Colorful, informative choices make easy references for menu planning. Love that you can use dry erase markers on it, wipe it clean and start again. A great value for the price!
Sturdy board , bright colors, good quick reference
Has many good ideas.
It's simple and very easy to understand. To the point without all the needless details. Highly recommend for basic diabetic information
Some good recipes to get you going to help with the food switch you must do for this new way of life eating. Also nicely illustrated.
I recommend that you get the Paperback Version. The price difference between the paperback ($3.95) and the Book that was Spiral Bound is HUGE (29.95). I could not find this spiral Bound book on the ADA site. I will keep this book, because this is what I order and it's on me but will not order from this seller again. DEFINATELY not what I expected.
Very pleased with lists of foods and information on meals both restaurant and fast foods!
Very informative. Easy to follow. Got for pre-diabetes
Since I am a 24/7 care giver for a patient who has diabetes 2, it’s a Bible for me!! It allows me to serve him the best I can!!!
I was hoping for more of a list of foods that I could eat.
I bought this book for friend who was newly diagnosed with diabetes and he really didn’t know what to buy. How much of what to buy so this book was very helpful.
I was recently diagnosed with diabetes. The cookbook has good recipes and they are easy to fix.
I originally purchased bc reviews said it was a good book to take with you and use as a shopping guide, but this is 8x5 too big for me to carry I was expecting 3x5, 4x6 either way it’s a great guide, great colors and big pages to keep a log. The low cost makes it a great purchase.
If your struggling with self control it helps to convert portions
This is VERY helpful-getting the right balance and serving sizes!
It’s the first book I bought about pre-diabetes. The best part is the beginning of the book, where it’s explained the illness and how will affect your health in a simple way. I did not care too much about the measurements about the food. It’s a good book to approach the subject.
easy to use
very disappointed with this 60-page pamphlet supporting the marketing of the Nutritionist. The book gives information that is always lacking and then refers you to your Nutritionist to actually offer guidance. The food listed items are very generic and the associated values tell you very little about how much or how to tell your serving proportions - see your Nutritionist.
This a small book but gives great information I needed thanks.
Concise list of all the things that you can have
Perfect for beginner
I got tons of great info
Plenty info.
When I was diagnosed as diabetic the nutritionist gave me a folder and xerox copies of an eating plan. So I glanced through it and meh. She also had the holier than thou attitude so I couldn’t wait to get out of her office. I found this book on Amazon and it is a lifesaver. Teaches food groups. Healthy and not so healthy. Calories. Which veggies to eat and how much. Which to avoid or limit quantities. So much information and so easy to read. Also easy to refer to in a hurry. Colorful. Shiny pages. This is what the nutritionists should be giving out to the newly diagnosed diabetics. And I think only 3+ dollars. Well worth it.
It would be better if only my wife would read it.
extremely helpful
This bo9k has some great reading. Giving me some great ideas and tips.
For beginners wanting to get information about diabetes, I highly recommend this book! It's easy to read and the colored pictures help.
Very informative about good choices for food. How to read food labels and how much to eat.
This is a great book for beginner diabetics
I have been a type II diabetic for several years now and this guide is very helpful. I think it will also help me to eat healthier and to stay on a diet.
Excellent source of information. Direct and simple to understand. Great diagrams and charts. Allows you to be proactive with your health care!
Have not read
This gives you some good ideas on how to plan a meal and what to do and everything I’ve had diabetes for a while, but this is just a good refresher course and if you’re not sure get this book, it will really help you out a lot
I was told by my doc that I am prediabetic. My diet has not been the greatest during the pandemic, and hubs not meeting a veggie he likes has not helped. I purchased this book, a great price and it has been amazingly helpful. Kicked hubs food preferences to the curb and yes, have to purchase and make my food seperate from his BUT the turn around has been amazing and this little book was my biggest help. Was able to change out certain starch veggies for other things and verify what I already knew to be better for me. Great book to have on hand for anyone.
Was very happy about this book. It's smaller and it gets right to the point. Very colorful and is helpful to tell you what to eat and what not to eat. I hate big thick books that explain things and you get nowhere. This book is very basic and simple.
My husband was diagnosed as being prediabetic, and what we were looking for was just a very simple list of foods that he should avoid, and that he’s welcome to eat. We didn’t really want recipes or anything else. No scientific jargon and this was just a list of foods it was perfect.
I have been using these booklets for 30 years. These are comprehensive yet easy to use when teaching your diabetic patients about their meal plans, exchanges and carb counting. While the cover has changed as time goes, but the material continues to be the same.
It is a very valuable resource. A lot of easy to find information in one book.
Making lots of notes
Recently diagnosed prediabetes. This is very helpful for insight on what foods to have more of, and which to reduce, or even eliminate. I'm trying to use diet to control my condition, rather than depend on medication, so this helps a lot.
Easy to read and I like the way the food information is grouped. Handy for weight lose as well.
This book is very good. I helps when you are counting calories.
I've suffered with Diabetes for 7 years now and this is my first time seeking out books on the subject. This one has been created to be very user friendly, education and fun. This is an excellent value. Thank you.
This book was very helpful. Well worth the money.
I ordered this booklet because my hubby was just diagnosed with diabetes. He was told by his doctor that he needs to lower his a1c at least two points. I thought this guide would provide some information on how many carbs, or calories, or whatever, he should be ingesting on a daily basis in order to reach his goals. It gives lots of information and numbers, but what good is that if you don’t know what the goal is?
I am so glad I bought this book. It is very helpful and the layout is nice. You don't feel like you are drowning overwhelming information. Easy read & some pictures. My husband was just diagnosed with T2 and it's a family food change. Would buy for a friend in a heart beat who is diagnosed with T2!
Gives good ideas for adjusting for meals needed for diabetes
Gives you ideas for what to eat if you have this condition.Easy to understand. Not too thick, fast read.
I really like this booklet. It is colorful, easy to read and follow. It is the best diabetic book I have read or looked at. I am pre-diabetic and the subject of diabetes and sugar and glucose, etc. is very overwhelming. You just don't know where to start reading or getting information. This is the book to have when you need to start getting familiar with eating and diabetes. Very reasonably priced and I highly recommend it.
